    One-Piece Montreal British Militia Button and Currency (1790's - 1810)
    Description: Nice button with a clear legend. After the War of 1812, the shanks were removed from these buttons and they were used as currency. This particular example is from the Howard D. Gibbs collection and still has the small catalogue envelope.
