    Description

    Title:
    Antique Doll Head
    Description:
Presented for your consideration is this antique doll head. The larger sized doll head is made of brass and is a shoulder style head with two pre-drilled holes in each side of each shoulder to anchor the head onto a doll body. The head is painted a nude color with pink-red lips and blond eyebrows. Her mouth is slightly parted to show three teeth. The front bottom edge is marked with "Minerva" over a helmet. This hallmark is a signature of Buschow & Beck. Buschow & Beck were German doll makers of metal doll heads and were considered to be the most prolific of the German metal head doll makers. They were in business from 1888 to the 1930s. The number 8 is embossed on the back of the shoulders.
The eyes are loose from the head but are included with the doll. The eyes are made of thin porcelain and are painted a light blue-grey color.
This neat doll head would make a great addition to any antique doll collection! A nice starting point for crafting your own doll!
Paint has worn in areas and is crazing in other areas. There are two dents in the top of the head that would most likely be covered with a wig with bangs. Light bending is around the access point on the back and along the bottom edge. As previously stated the eyes are loose from the head and the porcelain eyes have dislodged from the housing; eyes need to be glued back in place before they can be put back in the head. Typical wear from age and use. Overall in GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
    Measures 5 1/2" wide, 4" deep and 7 1/2" tall.
