    Description

    An outstanding large early turn of the 18
    th
    century first nation elm burl bowl attributed to eastern great lakes or further eastern North America.
    A marble like exterior with marvelous intended and unintended form structure.
    A very large and solid bowl with flat bottom weighing approximately 5.4 pounds and measuring approximately 16 ¼ x 14 ¼ diameter inches (widest and shortest) and 7 ¼ x 5 7/8 height inches (highest and shortest).
    Extremely well used as a chopping bowl with undulating and stable cracking due to its age.
    Ring like patterns with hair like lines from these patterns are typical of elm wood.
    Red paint remnants most notably around approximate 1/2 inch thick rim with coloring similar to that found on Iroquois bowls.
    Handles include finger holes on both sides and visually symmetrical in size.
