    Description

    This is an Eskimo Artifact bow drill mouth piece and drill that was collected by Dr. Benjamin Sharp in 1895 while on the Revenue Cutter Bear in NW Alaska. The mouth piece is carved of wood with carved double animal heads and designs. One of the carved heads has trade bead  eyes. The drill is engraved with lines and a wolf. It has a metal drill in the end. The bow itself was not from this same collection but makes a complete set for display. The mouthpiece measures 8 1/4", the drill 6 3/4" and the bow measures 14 3/4".
