    Description

    Adorable 1910 Michigan Birch Bark Purse. Made from birch bark with black thread stitching and braided grass handle and latch. Sloped sides and handsome scalloped edge at flap.
    Card found inside shows carefully drawn design and measurements. This informative card is evidence that this little purse may be a unique, one of a kind piece of handwork.

    Measurements
    Shows remnants of quill work and has been repaired with native birch bark strips reinforcing the two folded “hinged” areas. No cracks of solid original bark body. Early and rare pressed brass Anerican buffalo added as decoration and secured by leather lock lace.
