    Description

1700’s OJIBWE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN CARVED WOOD SCOOP Ceremonial Treen Wormy.
OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL ANTIQUE, CIRCA EARLY 1700’s possibly OJIBWE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN HAND CARVED WOODEN SCOOP drinking vessel. REMARKABLE CRAFTSMANSHIP, HAND CARVED FROM WOOD. It is truly a museum quality artifact piece. Ornately carved in form and style. The vessel portion is completely hollowed out. Truly a stunning find. The Handle resembles a avian tail style. This is an incredible piece of Native American artwork and ingenuity. I was told it could even possibly be a ceremonial tool of a Native American shaman or medicine man which would explain the attention to detail and style to which it was carved out. I have never seen another in all the years that the my family has owned this piece, and have not been able locate another in my online endeavors.
It was purchased from a reputable primitive antique dealer from the Esteemed Roundtop Antiques Fair years ago before the Big Red barn when at the original rifle hall location. At the time they felt it was Native American in origin m. This is a fantastic piece of Native American History.
Please view photos they speak volumes as to the nature of this rare piece of history.
